Read MoreIf you get into bird photography, especially the small birds, you'll find that it is actually quite challenging to frame these guys while trying to obtain sharp focus. I was using a 70-200 F4L IS lens with a 1.4x extender (about 448mm on my 7D) and this was barely enough reach. All of these photos were cropped from the original. Ideal lens: anything 400mm and over for these little guys.
Song Sparrow. I always find birds with brown coloring hard to identify. The easiest way to identify this bird is to look for the larger dark spot on its breast. There's a few birds that look like this but none have the dark brown spot like the Song Sparrow.
